MAT (Harder) - 10 questions based on the interview text
AA - (Middle) - 10 questions based on the information text
BS (Lower) - 9 questions based on the information text (Cloze Procedure)
This cross-curricular presentation that requires pupils to add 2/3/4 digits using formal methods.
The final task is something a little different and requires blank stickers/labels which should be attached to pupils shirts. The learners add the pairs of numbers in a collaborative numeracy task.

LO: To add 3&4 digit numbers using the appropriate written method
Fictional play script of an air raid on London by the German Luftwaffe in 1940.
Pupils should study the model text and produce their own play script using the blank template.
A list of powerful vocabulary (Wow Words) and a copy of the success criteria for an effective play script is included.

Paired Yes/No games – You have a number of chances to guess the location of the hidden treasure! Two sheets needed per pair. Each pupil marks their treasure and their partner takes turns to guess the location.

Learners work collaboratively in order to brainstorm which foods and lifestyle habits are healthy or unhealthy. There is an option for other groups to rotate papers to build on each others ideas. (A3 paper recommended)
Each group will produce two final storyboard tasks showing what they consider to be a day in the life of a healthy person and unhealthy person. These activities will need to take place over several lessons to produce the best outcome.
Learning Objectives:
*To work together in small groups to answer problems
*To write and share ideas about healthy and unhealthy food/habits.
*To use ideas to make storyboards using words and pictures.
This activities are an effective way to assess how pupils can apply their procedural skills in reasoning tasks.
Activities include - Football goals, balancing weights, balls in a bag and equivalences.

This lesson initially uses a PowerPoint presentation to engage the learners through stimulating images and photographs. Pupils are then encouraged to create a bank a powerful verbs, nouns and adjectives based on the topic using the resource sheet. This bank will be very useful to refer to when completing any written tasks.

Reading and listening activity which has been tried and tested in the classroom in upper KS2.
